During the COVID-19 pandemic we are now operating a new Total Triage service for all requests, whether for an appointment or other type of request, clinical or administrative.
In response to the COVID-19 pandemic, NHS England and NHS Improvement have supported all GP practices in England with the rapid implementation of a ‘total triage’ model using telephone and online consultation tools.
Total triage means that every patient contacting the practice is first triaged before making an appointment. We will be asking you to complete and online query form through our website and this will enable us to direct your query to the most appropriate person who can help you as quickly as possible. If you do not have internet access our staff will complete this form for you over the phone. It is possible for the doctor or nurse to do your consultation entirely by telephone or video call but if the doctor feels that you need a face to face appointment this will be arranged for you.
Total triage is important to reduce avoidable footfall in practices and protect patients and staff from the risks of infection.
